What’s up, players?
As I’m sure you know, summer time is prime time for getting laid everywhere in the world. That is true nowhere more than Korea. This place is an absolute gold mine….
IF you know what to do.
But don’t worry boys, that’s exactly why Papa Jack is here at your side. And as everyone’s favorite digital wingman, I have a few special tips that will help you start this summer with a bang. Today I’m focusing specifically on this most wonderful time of the year when everyone’s ready to get hot and sweaty! So cancel your long date with Palmela Handerson and get ready to go out for some real action!
1. Let’s Get Wet!
The first summer activity most people think of is swimming. And where do you go swimming? The pool, right?
Dead wrong, son.
Pools in Korea are the absolute worst. They’re full of kids all the time, and I’m assuming that’s not your thing. Even if you’re lucky enough to find one of the rare no-kids pools, it will be full of ajeosshis who think they’re Michael Phelps. Basically, just skip the pools.
There is one very notable exception to this rule however – Pool Parties.
The Hamilton Hotel near Itaewon station has a pool that people who aren’t guests can access for a modest fee, and it’s a great place to hang out in the water with some of the hottest girls in Korea. If you’re reading this article on release, then you’re in luck because they just opened up last weekend for the summer! They also have pool parties there most weekends with food, beer, and DJs.
There are also pool parties around Korea with different event organizers and groups all summer long. You can find these on Facebook or Meetup without much trouble. These are excellent for meeting hot girls, and many of the groups even travel outside of Seoul for their parties, making weekend hookups a foregone conclusion.
Next, we’ve got plenty of water parks and beaches!
Water parks are a great place to take a date or a group of friends and have fun, but it’s most likely going to be a bust if you’re looking to pick up.
Nobody goes to water parks alone, which means the girls are either with family, boyfriends, or a group of nigh impenetrable friends. If you want to try your luck with those groups, you certainly can, but they’re not going to make it easy for you.
They don’t go to the water park to be social with strangers, which will make even the approach pretty difficult. Assuming you get in though, now you have to hold their attention for hours, compete against phones, friends, and inevitable cockblocks, and worst of all – bad logistics. All water parks in Korea are out of town in the middle of nowhere, so the chances you meet a girl from your neighborhood are low, and the chances of a quickie in the bathroom are even lower. Save the water park for when you’ve got a steady girl and want to take her out. You’ll enjoy it much more.
That just leaves beaches, and this is where I’ve got great news for you players!
The beaches here are absolutely ripe for pickups!
First off, everyone who’s going to the beach is specifically looking to have a good time. They’re already in a social mood, and our brand of patented Seoul Player Clown Game™ will certainly brighten their day and warm them up to you!
Another great part of the beaches is that alcohol is very readily available. There are always convenience stores near the beach proper, and there may even be some open-air bars or cocktail vendors along the boardwalk, depending on the beach you visit. A couple of beers will help to enhance the fun that you bring, and if you’re working on a 2-set or more, buying the first round of drinks can quickly ingratiate you with the friends so that you’re free to chat up your target with minimal interference.
Another fantastic aspect of beach game is that numbers and opportunities are heavily on your side. There are hundreds of people at the beaches, even through the Corona times.
While many of them will be couples and families, they can be easily avoided in favor of the groups of girls who travel to the beach together.
This is not an ideal environment for newbies however, as their defenses will be fairly high and they will be used to a higher level of game from the guys on the beach – I guarantee you won’t be the first (but hopefully last) guy to hit on her that day.
The girls who have traveled out of town to go to the beach will be more willing to hook up than on a normal night, as traveling has a freeing effect on the morals and bikini bottoms like nothing else. The locals who are at the beach already know why they’re there… And given that most Koreans can’t swim, I think you can guess what they’re looking for.
Regarding which beaches in Korea are best, you should pretty much always avoid the West Sea (towards China). It’s muddy and the water is dirty, and even though it can be a decent place to hang out if you happen to be around, people don’t travel to party there. The southern and eastern coasts are far more popular, and for good reason. The water is much cleaner, as is the sand, and you will enjoy your time there much more than on the west coast.
The three most popular places for Koreans to go to the beach are Yeosu (mostly couples), Gangneung in the northeast, and Busan in the southeast.
Of those, Busan is the most famous beach town, and Haeundae beach is particularly famous. While this is a great place to hang out and chat up beach bunnies, I have personally had much more fun and much better luck at another beach in Busan.
Gwangalli beach is very close to Haeundae, but much better in my experience. The crowds are usually quite a bit smaller, the bars and restaurants are cheaper, and the girls have much lower defensiveness there. I’m not entirely sure why the difference is so stark, but every time I’ve been to Busan it’s felt like night and day between the two.
Try for yourself and see!
2. Special Beer Olympics
Summertime is the absolute best time of the year for game-ready social events. There are all sorts of activities going on, from camping trips to bubble parties, beer Olympics, and the aforementioned pool parties.
These are easily found through social media and there are different events happening almost every day of the week in the summer.
The real issue isn’t finding special summer events online though, it’s knowing how to pick the right ones and play to your advantage.
The first thing you’ll need to do is figure out which events are going to play to your particular strengths. If you’re in good shape, pool parties and bars with swimsuit competitions are going to treat you very well. If you’re a drinker and you’re able to not cockblock yourself, pub crawls and beer Olympics are excellent because the girls who go to these know the type of guy they want. They will mostly be Alcoholics and Foreigner Lovers as well.
If you like being outdoors or you like sporty type girls, there are organized trips almost every weekend to different parts of the country for hiking, rafting, kayaking, mountain climbing, and the like. Simply being on one of these trips gives you a lot of extra value in the eyes of the girls there, as you already share at least one interest.
In fact, while pool parties and bar events are fun, I highly recommend overnight group trips. These trips aren’t always the best for one-nighters (though they’re quite common) but they are a really good chance to essentially speed date a whole group of people under the auspices of being a friendly and sociable person.
You can easily sort through the girls there and find one from your favorite Type who you click with to keep around for a mini-relationship or even a longer term arrangement if you choose.
This strategy works especially well if you’re a naturally outgoing person, but if you’re a bit more introverted, it can still be a great way to push yourself out of your comfort zone with minimal social consequences. Best case scenario, you come back with a few numbers or potential girlfriend, and worst case you never see those people again. However, do remember that low consequence doesn’t mean you should go be a sperglord – use good game and remember why you’re there.
Put your best foot forward and the results will come!
3. Get Out! (of town)
If you’re new to Korea or haven’t traveled around the country much, summertime is an excellent opportunity to do so. Domestic travel here is laughably cheap, especially these days, and there are many wonderful towns and cities around the country.
The biggest cities in Korea will also be the best ones for game, as there are more girls out and about plus they usually have a more vibrant downtown scene.
I already mentioned Busan earlier, but apart from the beaches, there are some really great nightlife areas near PNU and KNU. Daegu has a terrific downtown area near Dongdaegu station. Daejeon also has a very good nightlife scene, but it’s a bit more spread out than larger cities and will require some form of transportation to get around to different areas.
The smaller towns around the country are also worth visiting, but probably less so for the sake of picking up women. Consider them for weekend trips with a regular instead.
One of the biggest advantages to traveling in from out of town is that when you meet girls there and tell them you don’t live in the city, they will almost instantly self-select for one-night stands. There’s no point in collecting numbers from girls in the city unless you plan on being around for at least a week, so if you’re out on a weekend trip, the only girls who will want to stick with you for the evening are the ones who aren’t interested in meeting again afterward.
The provincial girls also have a higher likelihood of being impressed by your expat status, as there are many fewer foreigners in those cities and towns. For many of them, you will be the first foreigner they’ve ever spoken to other than a teacher… And Korean girls are often very ‘curious’ about foreigners…
4. It’s Called Day Drinking, Charlie Brown!
There’s a saying in Korea – “Beer isn’t liquor, it’s just a cold drink.”
Koreans really take this to heart, especially in the summer. My personal favorite part of summertime in Korea is that day drinking is not at all frowned upon and is often even encouraged!
This doesn’t mean to sit at a GS25 and get wasted alone, however.
There are many events that begin in the daytime and continue into the night, and you can even get something going yourself. All you need is a friend or two, access to a store with drinks, and a bit of creativity. You would be surprised how many people will join in a random group of people who look like they’re having a good time!
When you’re trying to decide which events and trips to go on, favor the ones that begin in the daytime with alcohol or the trips that provide alcohol on the bus to the event.
While these can be dangerous if you have a propensity to get too drunk, these types of events and the people who attend them tend to have lower inhibitions and standards for depravity. You will be much freer to approach and chat up a group of university girls who are 3 beers in as opposed to the local church hiking group.
As a general rule of thumb, you should always favor events and venues that involve alcohol, and that preference ratchets up pretty high in the summer when they involve day drinking.
As I said about strategic smoking before, girls who are already making questionable moral and health decisions publicly have a propensity for making further questionable decisions!
5. Keep Cool!
If you can’t travel and you can’t find any good events around town, if you can’t get to a beach, and you can’t join the national pastime of day drinking… There’s still one excellent summer activity that Koreans go crazy for!
There’s an ice dessert here called Bingsu that appears to be the country’s favorite summer food, and Korean girls will always be open to going out for some.
This particular Korean dessert comes in all different flavors and styles, but the most common is a large bowl of shaved ice with a sweet red bean paste on the top. There are also fruit varieties and other types, but generally speaking, this is what you’re getting if you order it.
Note: I personally do not like bingsu, so if you also don’t care for the cool confectionary, substitute ice cream instead. It works about 90% as well.
Bingsu can be used for dates and meetups year-round but is especially effective during the summer.
You can use it either for a special date with a regular, an insta-date from a street approach, or even a very enticing Tinder date, though you already know how I feel about Tinder.
The reason this is more effective than other things is because Koreans are primed by advertising and other cultural cues to eat a LOT of bingsu in the summer.
If you ask a girl out on a coffee date or even for a beer, that may seem a bit rote and overdone. A proposition of bingsu however will get almost any K-girl to come along, even convincing a girl who was just a maybe before into joining you.
